Dr. Yorick Smaal is an academic historian with over two decades of archival research experience. He has published widely in the history of sexuality, broadly conceived, and has deep knowledge of the social, political, and institutional conditions that suppress, erase, and magnify desire and violence.
Yorick provides expert historical advice to creative and legal professionals and government inquiries and has held several prestigious grants and fellowships. He is an elected Fellow of the Royal Historical Society (London) and current Treasurer of the Australian Queer Archives. |
